Celtic’s Patrick Roberts has suffered thigh problems for a good portion of the campaign. Obviously, the result has made a huge impact on his playing time and the midfield of the Bhoys.

Now, recent speculation has led some fans to believe that the England native could return sooner rather than later.

Celtic are currently in Dubai at the moment, and it’s looking like Roberts is right there with the club. Recently, Roberts took to Instagram and posted a beautiful picture of him and Kieran Tierney on the plane heading to Dubai.

The 20-year-old is currently on loan from Manchester City, and the time is ticking as he’s supposed to return with the EPL giants in May of this year. The hope is that Celtic can permanently land Paddy before the loan expires.

Roberts provides some youth to the wing, which could be even more dangerous considering the recent addition of Lewis Morgan. Imagine an attack of Morgan and Roberts terrorizing opponents in the next five years.

In 12 total appearances, Roberts provided a goal and 3 assists. However, that doesn’t mean that the winger doesn’t have a ton of talent. Here’s what the publication Celts Are Here had to say on Roberts:

"There is no doubt the tricky winger offers something different and if Celtic can get him back for any part of this seasons run in then they should. It may sound like a broken record, but if Celtic can get this lad permanently in the summer, it would prove a masterstroke even if a lot of people seem to have forgotten how good he can be."

The Hoops have taken the proper steps so far with their youth movement. It’s only a matter of time before the young guns in Tierney, Roberts and Morgan start lighting it up in Scotland and Europe alike.

It might be tough to capture Roberts from the men wearing powder blue however. Pep Guardiola seems to be pretty relentless in terms of squad depth, especially considering they are miles ahead in the EPL and still want Alexis Sanchez.

Roberts is currently valued near 7.5 million pounds. Celtic should really consider buying the wonderkid and could even come in with a lower asking price. Patrick’s value is justified, and the Bhoys can make that small investment that will only help the Glasgow side transition into the future.
