There’s no secret that Celtic need to add some more youth to the middle of the park. For that matter, more young players with loads of potential can be added all over the pitch.
Wonderkids such as Lewis Morgan and Charly Musonda have been linked with a move to the Bhoys recently. Now, another name has been thrown into the mix.
Nottingham Forest midfielder Zach Clough is a bit uncertain with his future with the English Championship side. Speculation has now come to the surface as to whether or not Brendan Rodgers will target the young playmaker come January.
The 22-year-old has remained in England for his whole career. Clough featured with Bolton not too long ago, where he scored 21 goals in 48 total appearances. He’s managed 4 goals with Forest, but has yet to find the back of the net in this campaign.
Clough still remains as a very intriguing prospect. The midfielder is excellent at moving the ball, creating chances, and finding the back of the net. Celtic could add Clough to the mix with James Forrest and Scott Sinclair which could improve the attacking midfield.
HITC notes that Rodgers has had history with the young talent back with Liverpool. The publication even goes onto give some praise to Clough’s overall abilities.

"Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers knows how good the diminutive Clough can be, the then-teenager starring in a 2015 FA Cup tie against his Liverpool side. Bet Victor even had Celtic as second favourites to sign him in the summer of 2016. And Clough would certainly fill a gap in Celtic’s squad, a clever and creative number ten blessed with dextrous dribbling skills and instinctive vision. So if Forest make him available in January, Celtic must at least consider bringing a player with huge potential to Parkhead."
With a flood of players rumored to be with Celtic in January, the likeliness of a Clough signing seems like pure speculation at the most. But, the midfielder comes with an array of talent that Rodgers and the rest of the Celtic board shouldn’t look over.
