Celtic considering Manchester United defender
By Nick McAdam
Celtic brought in the likes of Marvin Compper so far in the transfer period. The former Leipzig member can potentially play regular minutes for the Bhoys. However, the age of 32 suggests he isn’t getting any younger.
Plus, the depleted Celtic backline wasn’t getting much younger either. Erik Sviatchenko is continuously rumored to be out by January, leaving the Celts older and much shorter defensively.
Reports are now emerging that Brendan Rodgers and the rest of the board are now after some young talent at the defense. The Hoops apparently scouted Dundee wonderboy Jack Hendry who could provide some solid youth and talent at the back if signed.
But, the Hoops are reported to not be done there either. Recent reports suggest that Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe can be an option for loan in the dawning window.
Tuanzebe currently features with United’s U-23 side and has started in a total of five contests. The England native stands at 6’1” at is reported to have blistering pace. Many Man U pundits note that Tuanzebe is one of Jose Mourinho‘s most prized young players.
The 20-year-old hasn’t been able to play much however, so the option for United to loan him out makes sense. The Hoops could always use help at center back, and Tuanzebe provides the youth and qualities that Celtic desperately need at the moment.

Paradise could be the perfect destination for Tuanzebe, as him more experience with a relatively big club and it gives more time for Celtic to find a long-term solution. HITC goes on to note the benefits of the potential Celtic option.
"With his chances likely to be limited in the new year, United may opt to send Tuanzebe out on loan for the first time in his fledgling career, and a temporary stint at Celtic Park could be ideal for all concerned. It would also give Celtic more time to find a long-term solution, rather than potentially rushing into a deal midway through the campaign when top targets may not be available."
The Bhoys might not be able to keep the center back long-term, but it could provide some help for the upcoming months.
The fact of the matter is that Kieran Tierney is one of the best defenders in Europe right now. The Celts need to embrace that fact and find talent to go along with Tierney. Tuanzebe could be another addition to help the Bhoys backline transition into the future.
