It’s that time again, International week. Some of us love it and some of us hate it. It was a mixed bag for some of our Celtic players last night and here we look at how they got on with their International teams.

Let’s start on a positive note. Scotland!! We sent Gordon Strachan five players to try to get the victory that Scotland so needed against Slovakia last night and talk about leaving it late. Isn’t that what Scotland do these days?

Callum McGregor was called up but was an unused Sub last night.

Craig Gordon was about to enter the Scottish Hall of Fame by winning his 50th cap. He had a steady game and didn’t really have much to do as it was his opposite number who had the game of his life at the other end stopping everything barring Skrtel’s OG at the end.

Kieran Tierney was asked to fill in on the opposite side of where he normally plays and was steady as well at right back. There were a couple of times when he gave the ball away needlessly and he doesn’t look fully comfortable over that other side but he gave his all as usual.

James Forrest done well down the right hand side and took a very sore tackle early doors by the player “Mak” who got booked for that tackle and eventually got sent off for a terrible dive in the box which was suitably punished with that second yellow.

Leigh Griffiths was the stand out player for me from the Club. He pressed everything all night and was so unlucky with a free kick that cannoned off the crossbar. He got his rewards with helping out with the eventual winner. He covered every blade of grass last night.

Dembele and Ntcham featured for France U21’s last night as well. Moussa got 83 mins game time which will only serve us well as he gets his fitness back up and Ntcham got to play just over 60 minutes as he put in a commanding performance in Midfield as the French won 2-1.

Next: Q&A with Trevor Sinclair

Tom Rogic. This is the part of the International break that annoys me and it’s probably why guys like Tom won’t last too long at International level. He flies all the way back to Australia to take part in their two upcoming games and he got on for the last eight minutes last night. You have to ask yourself, is it worth it?
