Celtic sealed the deal at Tannadice Park, winning their fourth league title on the trot. Brendan Rodgers' side seem to have returned to form recently as well, scoring five goals for the third-straight match. Adam Idah and Nicolas Kuhn scored twice each, while Dundee United's Ryan Strain opened the scoring on the day with an own goal.
Naturally, there is a celebratory mood amongst Celtic fans at the moment. The double has been secured and they will get the chance to do the treble against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final.
Jota's injury was the only negative coming out of the day. The Portuguese winger did walk off the pitch on his own strength though and was involved in the post-match celebrations despite being on crutches and wearing a knee brace. So, hopefully, the issue is not serious and he is back before the end of the season.
Some very famous former players reacted to the achievement as well. Virgil van Dijk, who is on the verge of lifting the Premier League as Liverpool captain, commented a clap emoji on Celtic's official post. On the other hand, Joe Hart wrote 'congratulations all' accompanied by a couple of green hearts. Other than that, the likes of Robbie Keane and Alex Valle also left congratulatory comments.
Virgil van Dijk and Joe Hart react to Celtic league win
Of course, it is the occasion to celebrate. While Celtic have won league titles on a consistent basis, one should not make the mistake of taking these days for granted. They do not come around too often in one's lifetime.
After that, the focus will have to go back on the task at hand. Up next is a Glasgow Derby against the Rangers at Ibrox.
Celtic have lost the last two fixtures against the Rangers. So, they cannot afford to lose again. On the other hand, the main focus has to be on winning the Scottish Cup and completing the treble.
