Who will be the next Celtic manager? Well, it looks like we have found the answer to that question already. Wilfried Nancy is no longer just the favourite for the job. It is now considered only a matter of time before he finds himself in the Parkhead hot seat. But what has it not happened yet, if the choice has been clear all this while?
Let's be honest, not everybody agrees with Celtic potentially appointing Nancy as their new manager. The scepticism is understandable as well.
Nancy has enjoyed a decent bit of success in the MLS but he does not have experience when it comes to managing at the European level. And there is no guarantee that his coaching will translate to the Scottish game.
Celtic seem ready to take the risk though. So, why the delay? As reported by GIVEMESPORT, Fabrizio Romano addressed the situation in his latest newsletter for the outlet as he said:
"Technical things, but the verbal agreement is in place so the situation is currently considered under control."
'Verbal agreement' - Fabrizio Romano drops Wilfried Nancy to Celtic update
So, it looks like it is pretty much certain that Nancy is going to be the next manager of Celtic. When he arrives, the fans need to do their best to back him.
Nancy arrives at a difficult time in the history of the club. Now, that might sound dramatic, but the divide that has been created between the fans and the board right now is truly something unprecedented.
Just look at how the recent AGM turned out, having to be called off after just 25 minutes. One has to wonder if that had something to do with Celtic pushing their quest to bring in the new manager.
Of course, one risk with appointing Nancy right now is that the team might lose the momentum that they have built up under the management of Martin O'Neill. That is the last thing they need right before a Scottish League Cup final.
