Unexpected connection emerges between Lamine Yamal and Celtic
Lamine Yamal is the fastest rising wonderkid in world football right now. Many believe that he is already amongst the best in the game. It is hard to argue against them considering what the FC Barcelona youngster has achieved recently, guiding Spain to glory at the EUROs and the consistency he has shown at club level this season. The things he is doing at his age are unprecedented. He seems like a future Ballon d'Or winner. And an unlikely connection has emerged with Celtic.
Yamal's father recently posted a picture of himself on his Instagram. He was wearing the new Celtic retro-style tracksuit, both the top and the bottoms.
It is a connection that has clearly been welcomed by Celtic fans. Some have even left cheeky comments asking him to tell his son to join the Hoops.
The only time we can expect Yamal to be playing at Celtic Park is if the Hoops draw FC Barcelona in the Champions League. Considering the history of that tie, many might welcome it.
Unexpected connection emerges between Lamine Yamal and Celtic
The things that Yamal is achieving at his age are remarkable, to say the least. The last to come close was probably Lionel Messi.
Of course, we all know how Messi's career turned out. It would be unfair to expect something similar or even close from anyone, much less a player who is still 17 years old.
But Yamal looks headed for the very top of the game. He brings joy to the game of football and is clearly a special talent. That being said, you never know. Is he peaking too early? Will he be able to take the next step? Will he maintain consistency for years to come? Those are the questions he now faces even this early on his career.
