Celtic are coming off of their best Champions League campaign in a long time. The new format of the competition certainly helped but at the same time, the Hoops also deserve a ton of credit for the job they did, losing just two games in the first phase and then taking Bayern Munich to their limit in the knockout phase of the competition.

This run has surely given fans hope that Celtic can progress further in the Champions League under the management of Brendan Rodgers. They were unlucky to draw Bayern Munich in this stage of the competition this time around. In the future, they might get an easier tie and make it to the last 16.

Of course, one fear that many had ahead of the away trip against Bayern Munich was that away fans could be banned. Fortunately, that did not happen. But unfortunately, things are not getting any better.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Celtic have been punished by UEFA for fans 'blocking public passageways'. That resulted in a €16,000 fine. This from the game against BSC YB.

One can only hope that Celtic's disciplinary record gets better in the future. This is the type of problem that has followed for many years now.

Of course, the focus has to be on the pitch as well. Celtic did very well this season but there is room to be even better. For that to happen, they will need to improve the squad.

The first step to that would be keeping the core together, something that they have struggled to do over the years as many choose to leave after good seasons. The second step would be to bring in Champions League quality players in the summer transfer window.
