After winning five trophies in his two seasons as Celtic manager, Ange Postecoglou decided that it was the right time to leave the club and make a move to the Premier League. He was 57 years old at that point in time and the chance to join a traditional 'Big Six' side in the English top flight was probably never going to come again.
So, most Celtic fans understood the reasoning behind Postecoglou's exit. It was helped by the fact that a phenomenal manager in the form of Brendan Rodgers replaced him in the Parkhead dugout.
Celtic have continued to enjoy success since then. They won the Premiership and Scottish Cup double in Rodgers' return season, even though there were some stumbles along the way. And this time around, they are on the verge of winning a treble, with a Hampden Park final against Aberdeen coming up.
On the other hand, things have not gone smoothly for Tottenham Hotspur. They are 16th in the Premier League table. And even though they are on the verge of reaching the Europa League final, there is a good possibility that Postecoglou will be shown the exit door. In fact, it looks like Spurs are already starting to ring in the changes.
Tottenham Hotspur agree deal that will interest Celtic fans
As reported by TBR Football, Fabio Paratici has agreed terms over a return to Tottenham Hotspur. A deal is in place. The Italian had originally joined Spurs as their managing director of football in the summer of 2021 after spending more than a decade at Juventus.
Is this good news or bad news for Postecoglou? Is this a sign that Tottenham Hotspur are already putting things in place for a new manager? Or is it a sign that they believe that changes need to be made elsewhere to improve things?
Well, we are not far away from the end of the season. So, it won't be long before we find out the answer to those questions.
