New training photos posted by Celtic before the Kilmarnock game on Sunday reveal that Kelechi Iheanacho is back in training after missing out on matches against Dundee and Livingston.

The striker was brought on during Celtic's 4-2 win against FC Utrecht in the Europa League, but the last time he was given the nod up front from the off was against St Mirren all the way back in December under Wilfried Nancy in the League Cup final.

Since then, he has struggled for game time, and with his exclusion from the last two matchday squads, many were left wondering if his time in the Hoops was essentially over before it even began.

Could Iheanacho return to action against Kilmarnock?

There is a chance that Iheanacho will be in the squad for Celtic's game against Kilmarnock on Sunday at Rugby Park. He offers additional support to both Tomas Cvancara and Junior Adamu, and putting him in the squad doesn't really have any downsides.

A lot of people still think he has something to offer. With only three goals and one assist so far this season, he hasn't really hit the ground running, but it can take time to bed into a new club. Although he's going to struggle now that he is below both winter window additions in the pecking order, his time is far from over.

If he is given the nod in the central position, he needs to ensure he performs. One bad game and he could be seeing permanent exclusion alongside players like Michel-Ange Balikwisha and Paulo Bernardo, both players whom supporters now think Celtic should do their best to move on from. Iheanacho won't want to join that dreaded list, so he'll be hoping that he can find the back of the net.

Yang and Mvuka also featured in training

Fans will be delighted to find out that both Joel Mvuka and Yang featured in training this week. Both players were left out of the squad against Livingston, but should be available for selection on Sunday.

Mvuka last featured against Dundee and had a debut to forget, but he'll be eager to win his place back and show Martin O'Neill what he really has to offer.

Yang has been a constant this season and is one of Celtic's top performers. He likely picked up a knock, and that's why he missed out on the Livingston game, as there is no way that O'Neill would drop the winger.

It'll be exciting to see both back in the squad, and hopefully, if they are selected, they can put on a show in Ayrshire.
