The long-running Greg Taylor saga has taken another twist. After spending six years at Celtic Park, the Scottish left-back's contract is set to run out this summer. Although, it is worth pointing out that an exit has not been officially confirmed yet by either party. But it does look very likely with an extension not agreed by this point in the summer.
Taylor seems to be keeping all his options open for now. Just days earlier, it had looked like a deal with PAOK had been agreed and he was on his way to Greece.
But a Greek media outlet claimed that that was not the case and negotiations had stalled between Taylor and PAOK. Now, three new clubs seem to have entered the race to sign him.
As reported by The Scottish Sun, FC Copenhagen are now showing interest in signing Taylor. Two English clubs are also believed to be weighing up moves for the left-back.
Sudden Greg Taylor twist as Celtic exit saga not over
Therefore, it looks like the Taylor saga is far from over. The rumours of a deal with PAOK were wide of the mark and there are still multiple clubs in the running to sign him as a free agent.
Are Celtic completely out of the race by now? Well, considering how this entire saga has played out, it would be a surprise if Taylor ends up back at Parkhead. He just does not appear to be keen to play as a cover option to Kieran Tierney in his prime years on the pitch.
On the other hand, Celtic seem to be eyeing up multiple left-backs as well. James Penrice of Hearts and Josh Doig of Sassuolo are two who have been linked with a move to Parkhead in recent times. Of course, Tierney is going to be the starter when fit and available.
