SPFL will allow Rangers U-turn after falling behind Celtic

It seems that the SPFL would allow the Rangers to make a U-turn, if they wanted to, after falling behind Celtic.

We are just two matchdays into the new season and the Rangers already find themselves chasing Celtic. Let's be honest, the Hoops have been nowhere near their best and this has not been a high-flying start to the campaign for them by any means. But Brendan Rodgers' side have gotten the job done, winning both their league games so far, home against St Mirren and away to Aberdeen.

The same cannot be said about the Rangers. They have drawn both their games and needed a questionable late penalty call to do so against Dundee FC at Ibrox in their most recent outing. As a result, they are already four points behind Celtic in the title race.

As a result, the magnifying glass is on one of their decisions, which could allow Celtic to extend their lead further. Recently, the Rangers announced that they would reschedule their Paisley trip if they reach the Champions League play-off round.

They are very likely to make it to the play-off, having won the first leg 3-0. Of course, if that St Mirren game ends up getting rescheduled, Celtic would get the chance to go seven points clear. And a lot of Rangers fans have called for the club to overturn the postponement plans. Will they be allowed to do that though?

The answer, in short, is yes. As reported by the Daily Record, they will be allowed to withdraw that request by the SPFL bosses if they have had a sudden change of heart.

Of course, Celtic did not request to reschedule their upcoming game, even though they are going to be in the play-off round, thanks to having won the league last season. And now, the pressure is on the Rangers to do something.

We all know that the Ibrox club seems to struggle when they are under pressure. Let's see how they end up handling it this time around.
