Snoop Dogg makes wonderful claim about 'special' Celtic fans
We have all seen pictures of Snoop Dogg in a Celtic jersey. As far as celebrity fans go, he is right up there with the most famous. Of course, many might question whether the rap legend really follows the Hoops or he just put on a 'cool' football shirt. Well, his recent comments suggest that not only does he have an understanding of the Glasgow giants but its supporters as well.
Celtic are a global brand. The support that they enjoy all over the world can only be eclipsed, or matched, by a select few teams in football.
Celebrity owners have made a mark in football in recent years. The first example that comes to mind is the fantastic job Ryan Reynolds has done with Wrexham, taking them from a little-known Welsh club to a household name around the world.
Snoop Dogg seems to be interested in investing in a sports team as well. And Celtic are one that he appears to be open to considering, especially because of the fans. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, the rap icon told Sunday Mail:
"I love what Ryan has done with Wrexham – it’s just a great story.
“Investing in a sports team has been something I have been looking at for a long time – if the chance came to invest in Celtic, I would be crazy not to take a look at it. I have watched so much soccer in Europe but I have never seen fans like the Celtic fans. There is something so special about them.
“There is a reason why their fans are talked about across Europe – the best players and coaches in the world tell you there is nowhere like Celtic Park and I want to be a part of that. Their mascot is a hound – you couldn’t make that up. Snoop Dogg becomes Hoopy the Hound – that’s gotta be a match made in heaven. The headlines write themselves."

Having someone like Snoop Dogg involved with Celtic, in some capacity, would not be the worst idea in the world. Whether that be as a minority owner or in an ambassador role of some sort.
Just look at the major impact that Reynolds has had on the global image of Wrexham. So, just imagine how much bigger that could be when it comes to Celtic. It could only grow the brand of the Hoops and help them bridge the gap that exists between them and teams from the top five European leagues.
It is great to hear Snoop Dogg praising the fans of Celtic and the Parkhead atmosphere. Hopefully, we get to see him in attendance at some point in the future.
