The summer transfer window has not even opened yet but business already seems to be picking up pace at Celtic. Of course, there is one signing that we knew the Hoops would complete this time, as a pre-contract agreement had already been in place with Kieran Tierney, whose stint at Arsenal is coming to an end. Now, another arrival is on the way while one player is on his way out as well.
We have seen Celtic being linked with a long list of names in recent months. Michel-Ange Balikwisha, Mathias Kvistgaarden, David Strelec, Sondre Orjasaeter, Kalidou Sidibe and plenty of others. But their second signing of the summer is set to be a rather unexpected on.
As reported by Anthony Joseph, Celtic are set to sign Aberdeen goalkeeper Ross Doohan this summer and the goalkeeper has agreed terms for a return when his contract expires with Aberdeen. On the other hand, Scott Bain will be allowed to leave.
Of course, both of these rumours have been circulating for a while now. But with this update coming from one of the most reliable sources out there in the Scottish game, it should now be considered as good as done.

Bain's decision to leave certainly comes as a surprise. The general feeling was that he had accepted his role as a backup goalkeeper and had done his job over the past several years, being considered a leader in the dressing room.
But now, it appears that Bain wants to leave Celtic in search of first-team football at 33 years of age. It is only right that he is allowed to do that, having been with the club for so long now.
On the other hand, not many would have expected Doohan's return. Especially at this point in his career, at 27 years of age, when he should be able to get consistent playing time at other clubs.
