It would be safe to say that Adam Idah has received his fair share of criticism from Celtic fans in recent times. That being said, are the Hoops in a position to part ways with him this late in the window? They simply do not have any other genuine starting options up top. Shin Yamada, Johnny Kenny and Callum Osmand are the three other strikers at the club and none of them are ready to lead the line.

Of course, many will point towards the success that Daizen Maeda enjoyed while playing centrally last season. But based on his recent performances, that might very well have been a purple patch of form rather than the usual standards he will be meeting moving forward.

Yet, that has not stopped Idah from being linked with a move away from Celtic with just days left in the summer transfer window. Celtic need to sign a striker right now, not part ways with one they've got. But considering the weight of the speculation, an exit cannot be ruled out completely.

As reported by Sky Sports, Swansea City are in talks to sign Idah and the approach has come as a surprise to Celtic, who had no intentions of parting with the Irishman this summer. The striker has also not been looking to leave the Scottish champions. But the English Championship club are pushing hard to sign him and are prepared to pay a decent fee.

Celtic shelled out a reported £9.5 million to sign Idah from Norwich City last summer. If Swansea City are willing to offer anywhere near that, or over that, it has to be considered.

Idah has struggled to be the main striker for Celtic. And as things stand, things do not seem to be improving for him anytime soon.

That being said, if Celtic do end up sanctioning Idah's exit then they have to be ready to sign not one but two strikers before the end of the summer transfer window. Considering the pact at which we have seen the Hoops move, does anybody think they are capable of pulling that off?
