With the transfer window quickly running down, Celtic do not have a lot of time left to complete signings before the deadline arrives. There are a number of positions where the Hoops are light on options. That has been the case all summer as well. Yet, for one reason or another, the club have left it late once again. Unfortunately, this is not a rare instance for them.
One area where Celtic need to strengthen as soon as possible is on the wing. Nicolas Kuhn's move to Como FC and Jota's long-term injury have left Brendan Rodgers scrambling for options in that area of the pitch.
He has had to move Daizen Maeda back to the wing despite his excellent performances as a striker last season. On the other hand, James Forrest has been a starter on the opposite flank, something that should not be happening at this point in his career.
As reported by Sky Sports, Michel-Ange Balikwisha was not in the Royal Antwerp squad to face KV Mechelen today. Celtic remain in talks with the Belgian club over a £5m deal for the winger.

There is a belief though that the move could be further along than that. Reports coming out of Belgium have suggested that a fee had been agreed with Royal Antwerp already and an agreement has been reached with Balikwisha over personal terms recently as well.
So, it feels like only a matter of time before Balikwisha is a Celtic player. Of course, how things turn out for him in Glasgow will be interesting to see.
On top of his game, he was one of the best wingers in Belgium. That being said, he has had his fair share of fitness issues in recent years. And of course, there is always a question mark about adjusting to the Scottish game too.
