With Brendan Rodgers' resignation in the middle of the season, it will not be an easy task for Celtic to find a replacement for him. Just like we saw earlier with the Rangers, finding a manager to come in at this point in time is not simple. Of course, it makes things simpler if they are without a job but that is not always a guarantee of success either.
For example, Ange Postecoglou is without a club at the moment after being sacked by Nottingham Forest merely 39 days into his run with the club. On paper, it seems absolutely perfect timing to bring the Australian back to Parkhead.
But there have been suggestions that he is not ready to return to management just yet, after two quick sackings within the space of months. On the other hand, there is uncertainty around Celtic's ability to appoint Kieran McKenna at this point in time as well.
As reported by Sky Sports, Postecoglou is very unlikely to be Celtic's next boss. The Scottish champions had been keen to explore a potential return but that interest will almost certainly not progress. On the other hand, it would take a great deal of convincing for McKenna to leave Ipswich Town in the middle of the season.
Sky Sports confirm double news about next Celtic manager
So, it looks like both Postecoglou and McKenna are unlikely to end up in the Celtic hot seat. Those were arguably the club's top two choices.
Earlier in the day, some outlets suggested that Craig Bellamy would not be keen on leaving the Wales national team job at this time either. That is because they are still in contention to qualify for the World Cup.
Another manager they have been linked with is Club Brugge boss Nicky Hayen. It remains to be seen if Celtic have better luck with him.
