Celtic only managed a goalless draw against Kairat Almaty in the first leg of their Champions League qualifier playoff at Parkhead. In the aftermath of the game, a lot of fingers have been pointed towards the club's lack of activity in the transfer window. Their hopes of qualifying for Europe's elite competition are now hanging by a thread and the Kazakh side have to be considered favourites to go through from this position.

Of course, Celtic knew for a long time that they would be in this qualifier. Yet, they did not do enough. This feels like a movie we have seen played out a number of times in the past, and it always has a sad ending. One can only hope that Brendan Rodgers is able to pull a rabbit out of his magic hat in the second leg.

As for the club, it looks like they are now trying to push for signings as well. But it might turn out to be a little too late. Yesterday, news emerged that a deal had been agreed in principle for Michel-Ange Balikwisha, although hurdles remain.

And now, it looks like they are working on another move. One that had gone silent for a while but looks to be back on again.

As reported by Anthony Joseph, Celtic are ramping up their pursuit of Go Ahead Eagles' Jakob Breum. Fresh talks have been held today for the Denmark U21 international and it is understood that the Dutch club are looking for at least £5 million.

In the past, Celtic are believed to have made multiple offers to try and sign Breum. But they fell well below the transfer valutation that Go Ahead Eagles have on their minds.

It remains to be seen if Celtic are able to get something done this time around. It is now or never for the Hoops.
