It remains to be seen what Celtic are able to achieve this deadline day. They came into it needing to sign a left-back and a striker, while a winger and a midfielder were also believed to be on their radar. It's a ton of work to do to say the very least. And impressively, they have managed to fill all those areas by signing just one player.
That might sound like a joke to many. Jeffrey Schlupp should take that as a compliment though, about his versatility.
Schlupp has the ability to play on the left flank, as a defender or a winger. He can also feature in midfield, be deployed as a number 10 or even as a striker.
As reported by Sky Sports, Celtic have agreed a loan deal with Crystal Palace for Schlupp. It’s understood the 32-year-old will undergo a medical in London tonight.

So, it remains to be seen what position Celtic want Schlupp to feature in most regularly. Is he someone who is being viewed as a potential starter by the club or an experienced option to have on the bench and fill in wherever needed when the situation calls for it over the course of the season?
It remains to be seen when the move for Schlupp is officially announced by the club. But at this point, it only seems like a matter of time before he becomes the Hoops' first signing of this deadline day.
It does feel like there is a lot of work left to be done for Celtic between now and the end of this window. Whether they are able to get it done or not remains to be seen. The club should not have been in this position to begin with and their strategy has been questionable once again.
