In recent weeks, Celtic have been very focused on parting ways with players who do not have a place in Brendan Rodgers' squad. The headline departure has been that of Nicolas Kuhn, who is now at Como FC. In order to replace him, the Hoops were linked with Isak Jansson of Rapid Vienna. But he has ended up joining Nice instead.
On the other hand, it looks like Rapid Vienna are looking towards a Celtic player in order to replace Jansson. Quite the game of transfer dominoes.
It is a player who found his form towards the end of last season. But unfortunately, that might not be enough to keep him at Parkhead.
As reported by Sky Sport, Rapid Vienna are about to sign Marco Tilio. The Australian is set to leave on loan, with an option to buy. However, a permanent transfer is still being discussed as well.
Sky Sport confirm Celtic player close to exit out of nowhere
Tilio was signed in the summer of 2023. He never found his feet in Glasgow though. Since then, he has had two stints back on loan at Melbourne City FC. Towards the end of last season, he had found some top form, scoring 5 goals and providing another 5 assists.
Many Celtic fans wanted to see him get a chance this season on the back of that run of form at Melbourne City FC. But now, it looks like he is going to end up at Rapid Vienna, whether it is on a permanent basis or on loan.
On the other hand, Celtic need to sign a winger or two this summer in order to not only replace Kuhn and also add some depth in that area of the pitch. It is also worth mentioning that Yang Hyun-jun has been linked with a move away as well.
