Another international break is nearly over and to be honest, it has been an eventful one. Of course, there was the meeting between the Celtic Fans Collective and the board, although nothing came out of it. It remains to be seen how supporters react in future games. But that has been somewhat overshadowed by the constant issues that the Rangers are going through.
Russell Martin decided to sack Russell Martin after just 123 days in charge at Ibrox. They have not found a replacement yet though.
Steven Gerrard was clearly their favourite for the spot. But he ended up turning down the chance to return to Ibrox, leaving them scrambling for an alternative. Danny Rohl and Kevin Muscat are the two names that seem to be leading the race for the spot at the moment, with the Ibrox fans clearly prefering the latter.
That being said, fans are waiting for the return of club football as well. Celtic will be doing that this weekend with an away trip to Dundee.
SFA make official announcement for Dundee vs Celtic
The Scottish FA have announced the officials for the game already. Matthew MacDermid will be the referee and he will be assisted by Dougie Potter and Chris Rae. Gavin Duncan will be on VAR duty with Sean Carr named as his assistant on the day.
Celtic do have a very good record whenever MacDermid has been the referee for their game. He has refereed eight of the Hoops' matches so far, with the Glasgow giants winning seven of them and one ending up in a draw.
Celtic will be hoping to add to their win column at the weekend for sure. Hearts do sit a couple of points ahead of them and while it is way too early in the season to get worried about that, the Hoops would not want to trail for too long. That is simply not what they are used to doing.
At the same time, it is important to find some form as well. While the results have not been up to the mark, they have been close enough. It is the performances which have left the supporters worried. This team looks flat and completely out of ideas. That needs to change soon. One can only hope that it starts with this away fixture against Dundee, although there are a few fitness concerns going into it as well.
