Well, there has not been much positivity amongst Celtic fans in recent weeks. In times like this, you can always depend on the Rangers to spread some joy. And that is exactly what they seemed to do this weekend, as they lost 2-0 against Hearts and remain winless in the league after the first five games.

It is a start that is hard to make sense of. Russell Martin is yet to taste a league win as the manager of the Rangers after the first five league games. How many people can we say that about? Somebody check the record books.

It is safe to say that the Rangers board might need to make a decision soon. Martin's team seem to be showing no signs of moving in the right direction. They currently sit at tenth in the Scottish Premiership table.

One of their fans wrote on social media after the game: "That’s the unbeaten run away as well now. Surely we sack him now?"

Well, what an unbeaten run it was as well, as the Rangers drew their first four league games of the season. In fact, some fingers need to be pointed at Celtic for only managing a draw at Ibrox. That just goes on to show how this squad has been weakened over the course of this summer, and for the past few years to be honest.

It looks like the majority of the Rangers supporters want Martin to be shown the exit door. Another wrote: "He has to go this weekend, fans deserve better."

Another added: "Well, that should be the end of that disastrous experiment, Martin has to go!"

Obviously, that would have been an enjoyable watch if you are a Celtic fan. One wrote: "£30 million spent. Easy to look impressive when you outspend the rest of the country put together, eh?"

But all jokes aside, this result does give Celtic a big chance to restore some positivity. If they can win against Kilmarnock this weekend, it will give them a nine-point lead over the Rangers in early September.

That is almost too good to be true and yet, here we are. Now, it remains to be seen if Celtic can go ahead and get the result that they need at Rugby Park this weekend. That will certainly give this team some much-needed momentum.
