Celtic find themselves in a horror situation. They have a new manager in place but it looks like the board have got the appointment completely wrong. Wilfried Nancy has lost all three of his game as the club's manager so far, including the recent Scottish League Cup final against St Mirren in a convicning fashion.
Even more worrying is the fact that Nancy does not seem to realise the gravity of the situation. This is Celtic, winning is wanted here, it is demanded and needed. The manager can talk about the performances all he likes. He won't last long in Glasgow if he is not winning games, even if he has the side playing like Brazil's 1970 World Cup-winning side.
Callum McGregor shed tears after losing the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen. That is a player with 24 major trophies to his name.
And some worrying speculation is cropping up following the League Cup final defeat. As reported by ACSOM, rumours emerged overnight of heated exchanges between club captain McGregor and his new boss Nancy, in the changing room at full-time.
Rumours emerge of Celtic dressing room argument after final
We do not know if these rumours are accurate or not. But it would not surprise us if they were on the mark.
McGregor has worked with his fair share of managers over his time at Celtic. So, he will know pretty well what it takes to succeed at Parkhead. At the moment, it does not look like Nancy is anywhere near that level.
At the same time, the speculation could very well be completely off the mark. But whichever maybe the case, it is pretty clear that Celtic need to improve drastically moving forward. Otherwise, it will only be a matter of time before Nancy is sacked by the club.
