Kyogo's decision to leave Celtic in the winter, passing on the chance to play in the Champions League knockout phase in the process, to join Rennes was a mistake. That is something most people would agree with, having seen how things have turned out for the forward over the last few months since his move to France.
Kyogo is completely out of the picture at Rennes. The last time he featured for his club was back in the middle of April. And things are not expected to get any better.
Habib Beye is set to continue as the manager of Rennes, having helped them avoid relegation. As for Kyogo, it looks like a move away from the card, merely months after joining them, is very much on the cards.
As reported by The Celtic Way, according to reports in France, Rennes bosses have agreed to allow Kyogo to leave in the summer. There is reported interest from Bundesliga clubs.
Rennes make Kyogo decision amid blockbuster Celtic return talks
Kyogo is a phenomenal player. There is no doubt about that. He was the guiding light for Celtic, especially during the early Ange Postecoglou era. Naturally, fans have fond memories of him. And unsurprisingly, we have seen him being linked with a Parkhead return.
Will Celtic make such a move though? After all, they do not usually spend transfer fees to bring in players who are past 30 years of age.
This might be a special case though. On one hand, Kyogo is proven in the Scottish game. On the other hand, Celtic need to strengthen in the summer after seeing Jota pick up a serious injury, which will keep him out of action for the next six to nine months. So, while a return is unlikely, do not rule it out completely yet.
