Nicolas Kuhn has been the star of the show for Celtic so far this season. The German winger has established himself as the club's talisman following Matt O'Riley's summer move to Brighton & Hove Albion. Not many would have seen his transformation coming after what had been an unremarkable first six months since moving to Parkhead from Rapid Vienna earlier this year.
Kuhn is pretty much undroppable right now. He has proven himself not only domestically but in the Champions League as well, with his brace against RB Leipzig sealing an important win for Celtic earlier in the season.
Naturally, Celtic fans were left concerned when Kuhn was subbed off at half-time in the game against Hibernian this weekend. They have an important trip to face Dinamo Zagreb coming up and will want to have the German winger available.
As reported by The Celtic Way, when asked if the fans had anything to be concerned about regarding Kuhn's substitute at the break, Brendan Rodgers said:
"No. They all came through and we were able to recover some players today and give others game time and it sets us up perfectly for Tuesday."
Real reason Nicolas Kuhn was subbed off amid Celtic injury fears
Kuhn is an exceptional talent and one that Celtic will need, if they are to get a result away against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League. He has shown an equal ability to both score and set up his teammates. A player of his quality is irreplaceable.
The good news is that it looks like there is no injury concern when it comes to Kuhn. Subbing him off at half-time was perhaps an attempt on the part of Rodgers to keep him fresh and healthy for the Dinamo Zagreb match.
Celtic are in a decent spot in the Champions League right now but with the race for a playoff spot tight, even one slip-up can prove costly. So, hopefully, they are able to get a positive result against Dinamo Zagreb in midweek and take another step forward towards qualifying.
