Earlier today, news broke out that an agreement had been reached for the transfer of Nicolas Kuhn to Como FC. Celtic would be receiving a transfer fee in the region of €19 million for the German winger's exit, substantially lower than what many fans would have been hoping for. And now, there is some more bad news for the club.

While Celtic are set to say goodbye to Kuhn, on the other hand, it looks like they are set to miss out on a long-term transfer target as well. He will be heading to the French Ligue 1 instead.

For the past two years or so, Celtic have been constantly linked with a move for Mathias Kvistgaarden. In fact, it is believed that they have even made multiple failed offers to sign him but were not able to agree on a deal with Brondby IF.

Unfortunately, it looks like that is where the Celtic saga ends. That is because, as reported by L'Equipe. RC Lens have reached an agreement with Brondby regarding Kvistgaarden.

So, it looks like a move for Kvistgaarden is no longer on the cards for Celtic. All the rumours and speculation over the past two years appear to have been for nothing.

Of course, this is the nature of football. Celtic must move on quickly and settle their eyes elsewhere. They do have a good scouting department, that identifies talents like Kvistgaarden early in their careers.

Unfortunately, Celtic were not able to sign Kvistgaarden earlier in his career, despite having managed to discover his talent. And they have paid the price for that, as he is now headed elsewhere for a much larger transfer fee than the one the Hoops would have needed to pay back then.
