There has been a lot of transfer activity around Celtic over the past few weeks since the opening of the summer transfer window. And it looks like there could be more to come, both in terms of arrivals and departures. The Hoops need to strengthen on the right flank following the exit of Nicolas Kuhn to join Como FC. But it looks like the wingers that they already have continue to be linked with moves away.
Yang Hyun-jun is believed to be drawing interest from England and around Europe. Unfortunately, he is not the only other Celtic winger being linked with a move away.
As reported by Anthony Joseph, Melbourne City FC want to re-sign Marco Tilio. The Australian club are exploring the conditions of another loan move, or a permanent deal.
Celtic had signed Tilio in the summer of 2023 but he has never really been able to establish himself at Parkhead. He has already been back to Melbourne City FC on loan on two occasions. Could there be a third such spell, or a permanent exit?
'Re-sign' - Anthony Joseph drops fresh Celtic transfer news
Tilio was actually very impressive during his previous loan spell at Melbourne City FC. There are many Celtic fans who believe that he needs a proper look in this pre-season before deciding on his future.
One would imagine that Brendan Rodgers is doing just that at the moment. And with options limited when it comes to wingers, with Jota also out injured for the foreseeable future, it would not be wise to part ways with Tilio before a replacement is brought in first.
If Celtic do end up sanctioning another exit for Tilio, whether on loan or a permanent basis, he will go down as another project signing that did not work out for the Hoops. There have been quite a few of those since Rodgers' Parkhead return.
