Defence is one area where Celtic are looking to strengthen this summer. While the right-back area seems settled with Alistair Johnston and Anthony Ralston, the same thing cannot be said about the opposite full-back position. Kieran Tierney has returned after six years with Arsenal and is going to be a nailed-on starter when fit and available but he does not have cover at the moment.
Greg Taylor left at the end of his contract to join PAOK in Greece. On the other hand, Jeffrey Schlupp was only on loan and was not handed a permanent deal.
So, Celtic will need to sign another left-back this summer. They have been linked with quite a few players in that regard. And if reports coming out of Belgium are accurate then one of them might be emerging as a frontrunner quickly.
As reported by HLN, Flavio Nazinho of Cercle Brugge is on his way to Celtic. The Portuguese left-back is high on the Hoops' wish list after his excellent U21 European Championship. The Scots have set their sights on him as backup for Tierney.

It remains to be seen how things play out over the coming weeks and months. But it does look like Nazinho is getting closer to a move to Celtic.
Of course, until something more substantial emerges, one cannot take this as a sign that a move is well and truly on. But this is a positive sign, there is no doubt about that.
Nazinho came through the youth ranks at Sporting CP but was not able to make the grade there, making only 11 senior appearances before leaving. It is at Cercle Brugge that he has made his mark and was a regular for Portugal at the U21 EUROs as well.
