As we get closer to the summer transfer window, all sorts of transfer rumours are starting to crop up. One might leave both Celtic and Rangers fans scratching their heads. It has been rare for players to cross the Glasgow Divide over the decades. But this time around, it looks like the Ibrox side want someone to make the switch from Parkhead.
It all appears to have started with a suggestion from Kris Boyd. The former Rangers player had questioned whether it would make sense for the Ibrox club to make an offer to Greg Taylor this summer.
Now, it looks like there could actually be some genuine interest on the part of the Rangers. it is worth mentioning that Taylor's current deal with Celtic is set to run out in the summer and as a free agent, he can sign with whomever he wants.
As reported by Football Insider, the Rangers are keen on convincing Taylor to cross the Glasgow divide. But the Celtic defender knows that such a move would cause uproar for the Parkhead faithful.
Rangers reportedly keen to sign Celtic player this summer
Taylor has carved out a decent legacy for himself at Celtic. He has not always gotten the credit that he deserves but nobody can deny his role in the successes that the club have achieved since his arrival in 2019. He has spent most of that time as a starter.
History is expected to be kinder to Taylor's legacy as a Celtic player. But not if he ends up making the move to the Rangers as a free agent.
To be very honest, even if the Rangers do have an interest in making it happen, it is hard to see it transpiring. Taylor is much more likely to end up at Dinamo Zagreb.
