Over the years, a lot of players have used Celtic as a launching pad to get big moves to the Premier League. Just this summer, we saw Matt O'Riley join Brighton & Hove Albion in a Scottish-record. Other names that come to mind immediately are Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer, Virgil van Dijk, Victor Wanyama, Fraser Forster and plenty of others. Could another join the list soon?
Celtic have lost only one game so far this season. Naturally, they have had quite a few players performing at a high level.
But even then, if there is one player who has stood out amongst the rest, it is Nicolas Kuhn. The German winger was signed from Rapid Vienna last January and had not actually been great for Celtic straight off the bat. But having settled in at Parkhead, he has taken his game up a few levels over the summer and looks a completely different player right now.
Kuhn's numbers have been outstanding, especially when you consider that he is a winger. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 7 goals and provided 10 assists in 15 appearances this season so far.
Premier League clubs have made contact to sign Celtic player
That kind of form already seems to be drawing high-profile interest. As tweeted by Florian Plettenberg, several Premier League clubs have already inquired about Kuhn.
Kuhn has been at clubs like Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Ajax in the past. Now, he is starting to fulfill all that potential.
If Kuhn can keep on performing like this, he is someone who could end up breaking the transfer record that was set when O'Riley join Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer. Of course, Celtic should not even be thinking about the German winger's exit at this point. He has a long-term contract and must remain with the Scottish champions for the foreseeable future.
