It is no secret that Celtic fans would love to see the club sign Adam Idah on a permanent basis this summer. The Irish striker spent the second half of last season on loan at Parkhead and won over the supporters, who had initially been unimpressed by the decision to sign him in the winter. He scored 9 goals for the Hoops despite mostly featuring as an impact substitute and even netted the winner in the Scottish Cup final against Rangers.

It does not get better if you are a Celtic striker. The hope is that that does not turn out to be his last contribution for the Hoops.

Signing Idah on a permanent basis is proving to be a tough task for Celtic though. Firstly, they did not have a buyout clause included in the loan deal. And secondly, the striker seems to be firmly in the plans of the new Norwich City manager.

Idah was left out of the Norwich City squad for their latest pre-season friendly against Magdeburg though. Unsurprisingly, that led to speculation about a Celtic move getting closer. But as it turns out, that was not the reason behind his absence.

Fitness seems to have been the reason behind the striker missing the pre-season friendly. As reported by Football Scotland, sources in Norwich suggest that Idah was ruled out due to a minor knock.

Since then, Idah has been pictured in attendance as well. Thus, it seems that the growing Celtic transfer speculation was wide of the mark, again.

To be honest, it feels like Celtic will have to be patient if they are to have any chance of signing Idah this summer. It is only natural that the new Norwich City boss would want to have a look at the striker in pre-season.

The problem is that Celtic only have one recognised striker in their squad right now in the form of Kyogo. Oh Hyeon-gyu and Rocco Vata left the club this summer permanently, while Idah departed at the end of his loan spell. So, the Hoops need to make an addition or two there as soon as possible.
