Celtic have been linked with a number of Premier League players in recent times. The majority of them are youngsters, mostly available on loan deals. But there are some veteran names being mentioned here and there as well. Jeffrey Schlupp of Crystal Palace is one such player and there appears to be an update on his situation.
Schlupp has been at Crystal Palace for several years now. He could be on his way out of Selhurst Park this summer though if the speculation turns out to be accurate.
As reported by Sky Sports, Celtic have made an enquiry for Schlupp. The 31-year-old is available for transfer in this window.
Schlupp is not someone who has been out of the first-team picture at Crystal Palace. He has been a regular feature for the Eagles and his versatility could be an asset to any team. The Premier League veteran is capable of playing as a left-back, midfielder and forward.
Sky Sports offer Jeffrey Schlupp news amid Celtic transfer rumours
It remains to be seen if Celtic end up making a concrete move for Schlupp this summer. The Crystal Palace has the potential to be a decent addition to this team.
Of course, Celtic do not often sign players who are past 30 years of age. But when they do, it has often proven to be successful.
Joe Hart ended up establishing himself as a Celtic hero over his three seasons at Parkhead, winning seven trophies over that period of time before retiring at the end of the previous campaign. Aaron Mooy spent only a season with the club before retiring but he was an important part of Ange Postecoglou's side. And most recently, Kasper Schmeichel has looked like a tremendous addition to this team, having arrived as a free agent in the ongoing summer transfer window.
