Six players Neil Lennon wanted for 10IAR and Celtic failed to sign named
Celtic are in a great place right now. They have won three league titles on the trot and it would be a surprise if they do not finish this season as champions as well. On the other hand, it is hard to see how the Rangers will close the gap between themselves and their Glasgow rivals. It seems to grow wider every day. Over the last twelve derbies, the Ibrox club have won once and that too a match whose result had no significance as the Hoops had already secured the Premiership by that point.
Things can change very quickly in football though and Celtic will know that better than most. Just a few short years ago, the Hoops seemed completely lost and it was the Rangers who were expected to go on a run and win some league titles consecutively while the Hoops rebuilt.
Of course, we are talking about the aftermath of the 2020/21 season. When Celtic had the chance to win 10IAR but finished 25 points behind the Rangers instead.
Neil Lennon was the manager of the club for the majority of that season. And it would be safe to say that his Celtic legacy was hurt as a result of it. It was not all down to the Northern Irishman though.

Most Celtic fans will remember that Celtic recruited terribly that summer. Signings like Albian Ajeti, Vasilis Barkas, Shane Duffy, Diego Laxalt and more just did not work out at Parkhead.
Now, on A Celtic State of Mind, Paul John Dykes has named six players that Lennon had tried to sign. They are Fraser Forster, Danny Simpson, Danny Drinkwater, James McLean, Charlie Mulgrew and Ivan Toney.
One can only wonder if things would have turned out differently if Celtic had managed to sign those players. We'll never know.
