Two Celtic players join European club on loan deals
Celtic signed eight players this summer while saying goodbye to quite a few more than that, whether that be permanently or on a temporary basis. There are still some who are not part of Brendan Rodgers' first-team plans though and could do with a move away, if they are looking for regular playing time. Two have done just that, departing Parkhead on loan.
It is especially difficult for youngsters to get regular chances at Celtic. The pressure is always on the manager to win pretty much every game and so, that reduces the scope to experiment.
Under these circumstances, going out on a temporary basis to gain valuable first-team experience is the best path forward for many youngsters. And as tweeted by Celtic FC B, Matthew Anderson and Ben Summers have completed loan moves to Admira Wacker.
Quite a few Celtic players have spent time on loan at Admira Wacker in recent times. Hopefully, Anderson and Summers will have a successful spell at the Austrian club.

Of course, this is a familiar journey for Anderson. He spent the previous season on loan at Admira Wacker as well and actually got to play a decent bit of football for the Austrian club, making 22 appearances for them and putting up some good numbers.
On the other hand, Summers had gone out on loan to Dunfermline Athletic last season. This should prove to be another positive step in his development at the senior level.
One issue that Celtic have had in recent years is their inability to promote their youngsters to the senior team. Chances will remain hard to come by in the first-team but hopefully, they can master a loan strategy using which there is a clear path into Rodgers' side at the end of it.
