QPR in pole position to sign Liverpool player Celtic want
Celtic have been linked with a number of Liverpool players this summer although a move is yet to materialise. Of course, the links to Caoimhin Kelleher led nowhere. They are rumoured to be interested in two very different style of midfielders as well in the form of Wataru Endo and Bobby Clark. There has been some speculation about a Ben Doak return on loan.
But the most realistic target for Celtic this summer might be Ben Doak. He spent the previous season on loan at Dundee FC and Liverpool are believed to be open to the idea of parting ways with the left-back, whether that be on a temporary or permanent basis.
Of course, left-back is a position where Celtic need to strengthen this summer. Greg Taylor is the only genuine option that Brendan Rodgers has there.
Do not get us wrong, after a tough start to life under the management of Rodgers, Taylor has adjusted well. He has been a solid performer for Celtic and often does not get the credit that he deserves. But there needs to be competition for places in every position and that is not the case at left-back right now.
QPR in pole position to sign Liverpool player Celtic want
It looks like Celtic are currently trailing the race to sign Beck from Liverpool. But they have not given up on the move.
As reported by Football Insider, Celtic are planning to overtake QPR’s deal for Beck. The Championship club are currently in pole position to sign the Liverpool left-back.
One would hope that the idea of a move to Celtic to play Champions League football would be more attractive to Beck than heading to QPR, who have remained in the Championship for many years. Let's see how things play out and whether the Hoops make a push to sign him.
