Celtic have made three additions this summer so far. Two of them are goalkeepers. Kasper Schmeichel was brought in as a free agent in order to replace Joe Hart as the club's number one and he looks like the real deal even at 37 years of age. Viljami Sinisalo is expected to be his cover option. And Paulo Bernardo is back on a permanent basis after a solid loan spell last season.
There are more areas where Celtic need to improve. All eyes are on the striker situation as the club have only one recognised centre-forward, Kyogo, following the exits of Oh Hyeon-gyu and Rocco Vata, and the return of Adam Idah following the end of his loan spell from Norwich City.
Celtic definitely need to sign a striker or two. At the same time, they need to make additions elsewhere too. One of them has to be left-back.
Just like at striker, they have only one genuine option at left-back, Greg Taylor. There needs to be some competition there and it looks like a Netherlands international could be a potential option, if rumours are accurate.
Netherlands international apparently offered to Celtic
Rumours doing the rounds suggest that Owen Wijndal has apparently been offered to Celtic by his agents. It remains to be seen how accurate these suggestions are.
Wijndal is currently at Ajax but interestingly, he spent last season on loan at Royal Antwerp. Celtic have been linked with a few of the Belgian club's players in recent weeks.
Wijndal came through the ranks at AZ Alkmaar and made the move to Ajax in 2022. His time there has not been the grand success that many had expected. There is no doubt about his potential though. The 24-year-old left-back has played about a dozen times for the Netherlands national team so far.
