Manchester United player reportedly keen on joining Celtic
Celtic are looking to strengthen their squad further this summer and it looks like midfield remains an area of focus despite the addition of Paulo Bernardo on a permanent basis from Benfica following a solid loan spell. One has to wonder whether this is directly linked with the future of Matt O'Riley, who has been linked with pretty much every club in Europe so far in this window.
One such player, who appears to be on the radar of Celtic, is Hannibal Mejbri of Manchester United. Coming through the youth ranks, he was considered one of their brightest prospects but life at the senior level has not exactly gone according to expectations.
Mejbri has made fewer appearances for Manchester United than he has for the Tunisian national team. Something needs to change for his career to take off and a move away from Old Trafford would not be the worst idea.
As reported by Football Insider, Celtic are plotting to overtake Rangers’ deal for the Manchester United midfielder. Mejbri is said to be keen on a move to either of the Glasgow clubs as they both offer the opportunity to play European football.

Mejbri would fit the profile of player Celtic have been targeting in recent years perfectly. He is a youngster with a big reputation and a lot of room for growth. Exactly what the Hoops like.
It remains to be seen whether Celtic end up making a move for Mejbri or not. It is important to weigh up the risks associated with a move for him as well.
Mejbri is a phenomenal talent for sure but things have not worked out for him at the senior level, not just at Manchester United but out on loan too. If Celtic were to sign him, it would be important to make sure it is on their terms.
