Celtic seem to be interested in strengthening their midfield further this summer. They have been heavily linked with Arne Engels of FC Augsburg over the last few days but he is not the only one believed to be on their radar. Wataru Endo, Tanner Tessmann, Alvyn Sanches and Hannibal Mejbri are some other names to be linked with the Hoops in this window.

Let's focus on Mejbri for the moment. He was one of the brightest prospects at Manchester United not too long ago.

Mejbri's career at the senior level has not gone according to expectations though. He has made more than twice as many appearances for the Tunisian national team as he has for Manchester United. His loan spell at Sevilla was not a success either.

Naturally, there are question marks over Mejbri's future. He has been linked with both Celtic and the Rangers this summer. And Manchester United appear to have a clear stance when it comes to any potential exit for the midfielder.

As reported by Football Insider, Mejbri will only leave Manchester United on a permanent deal. The club would like to use the fee received from the move to help fund potential transfer plans ahead of the new Premier League season.

Someone like Mejbri has a ton of potential but then, signing him would come with its fair share of risks as well. After all, he has never managed to deliver at the senior level. Can he do it at Celtic Park?

Celtic have a decent record when it comes to getting the best out of wonderkids. Just think of Jota, who was in a similar situation at Benfica, but ended up having a superb run at Celtic Park. That should be a good signing for someone like Mejbri.
