Celtic linked with interest in Ajax left-back
Celtic need to sign a left-back this summer. That is pretty clear and has been for a while. Greg Taylor is the only genuine option available to Brendan Rodgers right now in that area of the pitch. While the Scot has been solid, that is not an ideal situation. There should be competition for every position at Parkhead.
Hopefully, Celtic will sign someone who is capable of competing with Taylor for the first-team spot. If speculation is accurate, then a left-back from Ajax is on their radar.
Rumours doing the rounds on social media and fan forums suggest that Celtic hold an interest in Youri Baas of Ajax. The Dutch club might be more open to the exit of Owen Wijndal though.
Baas is 21 years of age and has been a regular contributor for Ajax in recent times. That has not been the case with Wijndal though, who spent the previous season out on loan at Royal Antwerp in Belgium.

Someone like Baas would be a solid addition to Celtic. But one would think that Ajax would want a significant transfer fee to part ways with him, the kind of figure that the Hoops might not be open to shelling out.
Wijndal, on the other hand, appears to be out of the first-team picture. He was once considered the next number-one left-back for the Dutch national team and even made almost a dozen appearances for them early on in his career.
Things have not really worked out for Wijndal since his move to Ajax though. One would think that he would be open to a change of scenery.
Let's see how things play out in Celtic's chase to sign a left-back this summer. They had initially been linked with Hugo Bueno of Wolves but that is off the table. Liverpool's Owen Beck could be a possibility as well.
