Celtic are set to take part in a few glamour friendlies this pre-season as they get ready for the 24/25 campaign. They began their trip to the United States on the right foot, getting a 4-0 win against DC United, but a much tougher test lies ahead of them. Brendan Rodgers' side are going to face Manchester City next.

Pep Guardiola's side are arguably the greatest in Premier League history. They will be without a number of star players against Celtic though, as a number of them were involved at the EUROs and Copa America.

Manchester City have no lack of depth though. As a result, this is still expected to be a tough test for Celtic and a good chance for Rodgers to gauge where his side are at ahead of another Champions League campaign.

Callum Doyle is someone who could end up featuring for Guardiola's side on the day. And the youngster has admitted that he has always dreamed of playing against Celtic. As reported by Manchester City's official website, he said:

"[I’m] probably [most looking forward to] Celtic. I’ve always dreamed since I was a little kid to play against Celtic.

“Since I was watching the derbies between Celtic and Rangers I feel like it’ll be a good game, a good test and a good battle."

Doyle is 20 years of age and plays as a centre-back. He has the ability to play on the left as well. Naturally, it is going to be very tough for him to break into the first-team at Manchester City.

He spent last season out on loan at Leicester City, who won the Championship and secured promotion to the Premier League. It is more than likely that the youngster will be sent out on loan again and there have been rumours about a potential switch to Norwich City on a temporary basis.

Of course, Celtic have signed quite a few players from Manchester City over the years, both permanently and on loan. So, they will surely have an eye on those who feature in the upcoming pre-season friendly between the two clubs.
