Celtic earned themselves another Glasgow Derby win at the weekend. Goals from Daizen Maeda, Kyogo and Callum McGregor were enough to seal a 3-0 victory. Over the last twelve meetings between the two sides, the Hoops have lost just once. Even that was a game which had nothing riding on the result, as Ange Postecoglou's side had already secured the league title by that point and had key players missing.

So, there was a lot of positivity surrounding Celtic coming out of the Glasgow Derby. The only worry though was the fitness situation of Cameron Carter-Vickers.

The American international was pictured leaving Parkhead after the Glasgow Derby wearing a moon boot. Of course, there had been some concerns regarding Carter-Vickers' fitness leading up to the game as well and overall, he has had his injury problems for the past couple of seasons now.

Unsurprisingly, Celtic fans were left worried by the entire situation. But now, it looks like there is a positive update on the situation of Carter-Vickers.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Carter-Vickers is expected to be fit for Celtic’s return to action against Hearts later this month. His wearing a moon boot after the Glasgow Derby was more precautionary for what’s understood to be a knock in his left foot suffered against St Mirren.

Carter-Vickers certainly did not look like someone who was struggling with fitness on the day. He put in a solid display and kept another clean sheet against the Rangers. We are starting to get used to that by now.

Also, it must be pointed out that the Celtic defensive situation could get interesting moving forward. That is because the club have signed fellow American international, Auston Trusty, from Sheffield United in a £6 million deal.
