Liverpool linked with move for Celtic superstar
We have already seen quite a few players leave Celtic this summer. Sead Haksabanovic, Rocco Vata and Oh Hyeon-gyu are three who have departed on a permanent basis. Marco Tilio has also left, but on loan, returning to Melbourne City FC. It is safe to say that none of them were regular starters in Brendan Rodgers' side last season.
So, their exits is not expected to have a major effect on the team at this moment. Although Vata is someone who could have gone on to become a starter someday if his development went according to expectations.
One regular starter whose Celtic future is in doubt right now is Matt O'Riley. The Danish midfielder was by far the club's best player last season and that has caught the eye of some of Europe's biggest teams.
As tweeted by Rudy Galetti, Atalanta are the team that moved first for O'Riley, but the race for the Celtic player is still open. Liverpool and Atletico Madrid are well-informed about the situation of the Danish midfielder.

So, it looks like Liverpool are also interested in O'Riley. At this point, it is hard to see him staying at Celtic Park beyond this summer.
Atletico Madrid made an offer to sign O'Riley in the winter which Celtic turned down. They did the same with Atalanta this summer. And it is believed that the Hoops want a Scottish record £30 million transfer fee to consider parting ways with their top performer.
With clubs like Liverpool, Inter Milan, Juventus, Atalanta and Atletico Madrid being linked with a move for O'Riley, it is very possible that Celtic could end up receiving an offer in that region. It will be very difficult for the club to find a replacement for the midfielder though. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 19 goals and provided 18 assists last season.
