Leicester City interested in signing Celtic superstar
Celtic fans are hoping that the club make significant additions to the squad this summer but the early portion of the transfer window has been all about exits. Three players have left the club already and there could be more on the way out soon. Sead Haksabanovic has joined Malmo on a permanent basis. Rocco Vata is now a Watford player. And Marco Tilio has left on loan to return to Melbourne City FC.
Another player whose future is constantly clouded by exit rumours is Matt O'Riley. He was Celtic's best player last season and that has caught the eye of several top teams.
Atletico Madrid were believed to have made a failed attempt to sign him in January. Inter Milan are another historic club to have been linked with him as well. But as things stand, the Premier League is looking like the most likely destination for O'Riley this summer.
He has been linked with several English teams already and the competition only seems to be growing. As reported by The Scottish Sun, Leicester City are joining the race for O'Riley. The Foxes need a replacement for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall after his £30 million move to Chelsea.
Leicester City interested in signing Celtic superstar
Leicester City are back in the Premier League but they have a lot of work to do this summer. They have seen both Enzo Maresca and arguably their best player from last season, Dewsbury-Hall, leave for Chelsea.
Could signing someone like O'Riley be the solution for them? They will need to shell out a significant transfer fee to sign him. It is believed that Celtic want a figure around or north of £30 million to part ways with the Danish midfielder.
Of course, O'Riley leaving would be a major blow for Celtic. But that is the just the reality of life at Parkhead. The club's best players often end up moving.
