Celtic fans will be delighted with how their Champions League opener against Slovan Bratislava played out. While it is not rare to see the Hoops score five goals, it certainly does not happen often at the European level. So, it was a night to remember for Brendan Rodgers's side, as Kyogo, Daizen Maeda, Arne Engels, Liam Scales and Adam Idah, all found the back of the net.

It looked like Celtic were dealing with the same old problems in the first half. They got great chances but could not put them away and must have been disappointed to go into the break just a goal up. But they had their scoring boots on in the second half, adding four goals to the tally and registering one of their best ever results in the Champions League.

This result will increase Celtic's hopes of making it to the next phase of the competition. On the other hand, a Liverpool legend has now made allegiance clear when it comes to the Glasgow teams.

As reported by Football Scotland, while on punditry duty for American network CBS Sports, Micah Richards asked "Celtic or Rangers", to which Jamie Carragher responded. "I'm Celtic."

Of course, having the support of Carragher will not make a difference on the pitch for Celtic. But still, it is good to see a legend like him back the Hoops.

After a long time, it feels like Celtic have a genuine chance of making it past the first round of the Champions League. They still have three winnable games left in this phase. And hopefully, they will be able to get a result or two against the tougher opposition.

As far as last night goes, it was perfect for Celtic. Hopefully, they can build on that and believe that they can deliver at this level.
