Celtic fans must be delighted with how the team performed in their Champions League opener against Slovan Bratislava. The Hoops were the favourites going into the game against the Slovakian side, who were visiting Parkhead on matchday one. But even then, nobody would have predicted a 5-1 win.

There were five different goalscorers as well. Liam Scales, Kyogo, Arne Engels, Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah, all got in on the act in what was a historic night for the Hoops.

One player who did not even get on the pitch though is Luis Palma. The Honduran winger was named on the bench and remained there, even though Rodgers used five subs.

With the game in the bag, one would have expected Palma to get a late run out in the park, to get some minutes under his belt and perhaps some confidence as well. But Rodgers brought on the likes of James Forrest, Auston Trusty, Idah, Paulo Bernardo and Anthony Ralston ahead of the Honduras international.

Palma had been a major part of Celtic's Champions League campaign last season, even scoring against Atletico Madrid. But right now, he seems far down the pecking order.

Palma's place in the winger pecking order might have been further solidified after Celtic's 5-1 win against Slovan Bratislava. Both Nicolas Kuhn and Maeda, made telling contributions on the day. On the other hand, Forrest came off the bench and brilliantly set up Idah for the fifth.

At the moment, there does not seem to be a way back into the starting XI for Palma. It looks like he is a player that does not suit Rodgers' system of football even though he showed a ton of quality last season. If things don't improve soon, the Honduran might have to change teams in the not too distant future.
