Harry Kane hands Champions League boost to Celtic
Celtic are heading into another Champions League campaign as they get ready to welcome Slovan Bratislava to Parkhead. It does feel like the Hoops have a better chance of making it into the next round of the competition in this new-look format. The luck of the draw was on their side and they were handed some winnable games, at least on paper.
It remains to be seen how Celtic perform against Slovan Bratislava. It is important to remember that while they might not be the most well-known of teams, it would be a mistake to take the Slovakian side lightly. There are simply no easy games in the Champions League.
On the other hand, we have already seen one of Celtic's upcoming opponents be involved in a memorable game in the Champions League this season. Unfortunately, it was for all the wrong reasons.
Dinamo Zagreb lost 9-2 to Bayern Munich. Harry Kane scored four goals, Michael Olise got a brace while Leon Goretzka, Leroy Sane and Raphael Guerreiro found the back of the net once each.

That result will come as a major blow for Dinamo Zagreb. It is normal to lose to a team like Bayern Munich but the magnitude of that defeat, and conceding nine goals, will not help their confidence.
Of course, that is good news for Celtic. They now know that Dinamo Zagreb have issues at the back. And hopefully, they can get past their defence when the two teams meet on matchday six.
For now, Celtic's focus cannot be on Dinamo Zagreb. That match is a long time away. Getting a win over Slovan Bratislava is atop the wish list for now. Also, it is worth pointing out that another one of the Hoops' opponents, BSC Young Boys, lost on matchday one. 3-0 against Aston Villa, who Rodgers' side will also face.
