Celtic boss tipped to drop in-form player vs Slovan Bratislava
Celtic will kick off their Champions League campaign with a home game against Slovan Bratislava. As far as games at this level go, this certainly feels like a winnable one for Brendan Rodgers' side. Of course, that does not mean that they can take the Slovakian team lightly for even a second. There are no easy contests in Europe's elite competition.
It will be interesting to see how Rodgers lines his team up against Slovan Bratislava. It goes without saying that the strategy and tactics have to be tweaked when it comes to the Champions League.
One of the questions going into the match is who the wingers will be for Celtic in midweek. Nicolas Kuhn and Daizen Maeda started at the weekend against Hearts.
But is that a sign that someone like James Forrest could have been rested, as there are plans to start him against Slovan Bratislava? As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Michael Stewart said on The Scottish Football Social Club:
"I’m just not sure that they’re as strong in that area as they are everywhere else because for me James Forest, I know Brendan Rogers said it last year but I would say the same now, I still think he’s the best and I wonder whether he was rested at the weekend because he’ll be starting against Slovan Bratislava."

Forrest has enjoyed an unexpected career revival at Celtic. For several years, he had remained an option on the bench and seemed like a veteran the club wanted to have around just for his experience.
But Forrest was brought back into the first-team fold towards the end of last season. He justified that selection as well by scoring some vital goals and helping Celtic to a league and Scottish Cup double. He has remained in the mix since then.
But starting Forrest in the Champions League would mean that one of Kuhn or Maeda would have to drop down to the bench. Both of them have been in great form so far this season though. So, that would be a tough decision to make for Rodgers.
