Celtic need to sign a striker this summer. That has been clear for a while. The hope is that they are able to bring back Adam Idah on a permanent basis following his excellent loan spell at Parkhead last season. But what if that does not happen? In the scenario that the Hoops are not able to agree a deal with Norwich City, what would their Plan B look like?

There have been some suggestions about Odsonne Edouard making a potential return to Celtic Park this summer. The striker's future at Crystal Palace is in doubt after three underwhelming seasons in England.

Edouard was a consistent 20-plus goals per season striker for Celtic. But he has not managed to produce the same numbers in the Premier League. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 21 goals in 101 appearances for Crystal Palace.

And as tweeted by Fabrizio Romano, Edouard could leave Crystal Palace this summer with several clubs interested in the striker. There have been three approaches from Italy and the Premier League, and the player will take his time to consider all the options.

Thus, it looks like Edouard could be set to leave Crystal Palace this summer. Will Celtic end up making a move for him though?

To be honest, it feels like it might be a bit too early for Edouard to consider a return to Celtic. He is still just 26 years of age and it looks like he will have no lack of options if he was to leave Crystal Palace this summer.

A move back to Celtic for Edouard would seem a lot more realistic if things did not work out for him at another club as well. For now, the Frenchman's return feels a bit unlikely, especially with clubs in Italy and England interested in him.
