Fabrizio Romano confirms Bayer Leverkusen interest in Celtic player
While there has been a lot of talk about potential Celtic incomings this summer, we have only seen players leave so far. One such player to leave was Rocco Vata. Despite his successes at the youth level, the youngster was never given a proper chance in the senior team and it is understandable why he chose to depart, joining Watford.
Now, it looks like another highly-rated Celtic youngster's future is up in the air. One who actually played a decent bit of football during their midfield injury crisis last season.
The player in question is none other than Daniel Kelly. According to Transfermarkt, he made 6 appearances and scored one goal for Celtic last season.
As tweeted by Fabrizio Romano, Kelly could leave Celtic as a free agent in January. There's still no agreement after the club's proposal to the player. He could be one to watch as many top European clubs follow him including Bayer Leverkusen. The Hoops have rejected all approaches so far.

It remains to be seen whether Celtic are ultimately able to agree a contract extension with Kelly or not. There had been some positive updates regarding the situation a few months earlier but not much new has come out since then.
It is not hard to understand why someone like Kelly might find the chance to play for a club like Bayer Leverkusen and work with a manager like Xabi Alonso attractive. Let's see how things play out.
Celtic do not have a good track record in recent years when it comes to promoting the club's youngsters to the senior team. The last one to make that jump and become a regular starter was Kieran Tierney. That was a long time ago. So no wonder many choose to leave early on in their careers.
