Celtic are expected to make quite a few additions this summer even though the early part of the transfer window has been all about departures. A new goalkeeper is the top priority following the retirement of Joe Hart. On the other hand, signing another striker is important as well, with Adam Idah returning to Norwich City at the end of his loan spell. Centre-back could be another area worth keeping an eye on.

Liam Scales was Celtic's most regular centre-back last season with Maik Nawrocki and Gustaf Lagerbielke failing to nail down a spot in the team following their summer arrivals. But there are many who believe that the club should sign someone to compete with the Irishman for the starting spot.

There has been some speculation about Carl Starfelt making a return. It was just last summer that he left for Celta Vigo and did play regular football for the Spanish side as well.

But as tweeted by Fabrizio Romano, Starfelt could leave Celta Vigo in the summer transfer window as several clubs have inquired about his situation. After a good season in La Liga, he could be on his way out of the club.

Starfelt had a short but impactful run at Celtic. He formed a fantastic partnership with Cameron Carter-Vickers in the heart of defence.

Celtic certainly took a step back in that area following Starfelt's departure. So, if the opportunity is there to bring back Starfelt, it should certainly be considered.

Starfelt is 29 years of age, pretty much in his prime. He also should have improved as a player since leaving, having had the experience of playing regularly at the La Liga level. If the Swede is available for a transfer fee that makes sense for Celtic, they should try to make a return happen.
